This Celtic home shirt from the 2002-03 season is no ordinary shirt. It is a shirt that belonged to Bobby Petta — the Rotterdam-born left winger who came through the Feyenoord academy before making his name in Britain with Ipswich Town and Celtic, where he played a key role in Martin O'Neill's treble-winning side of 2000-01. This shirt was specially made for one unique night: the Lisbon Lions Benefit Match against Feyenoord at Celtic Park on 22 January 2003, played to honour the legendary Celtic side that won the European Cup in 1967. For Petta it meant facing the club where it all began for him. He started the match on the left wing in front of 22,300 fans, before being replaced at half-time as Martin O'Neill rotated his squad. Feyenoord won 3-2, with former Celt Pierre van Hooijdonk opening the scoring with a trademark free-kick, and a young Robin van Persie coming off the bench for the Dutch side.
The shirt is in good condition, worn and used, with clear signs of match action. All details remain intact, including the Umbro branding, the Celtic club crest, the "ntl:" front sponsor, the embroidered match details "Celtic v Feyenoord – Lisbon Lions Benefit Match 22-01-03", and the special "Lisbon Lions 1967-2003" sleeve badge.
