This matchworn Poland national team goalkeeper jersey from the 1999–2000 season, with the number 1, belonged to Polish international Jerzy Dudek. Jerzy Dudek is a former Polish goalkeeper best known for his time at Feyenoord, Liverpool and Real Madrid. He won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord and became a Liverpool legend after his outstanding performance in the 2005 Champions League final, saving two penalties in the shootout against AC Milan. Dudek also represented Poland 60 times and played at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He retired from professional football in 2011.
This shirt comes from the private collection of our matchmaker Peter van Vossen, who donated the shirt to FC Robinstijn. Peter was a teammate and friend of Dudek at Feyenoord and received the shirt personally from Dudek. Peter van Vossen (born in 1968) is a former Dutch football striker known for his pace, determination, and goal-scoring ability. During his career, he played for clubs including VC Vlissingen, Beveren, Anderlecht, Ajax, Rangers, Feyenoord, De Graafschap, and Vitesse. He won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and later became Dutch champion with Feyenoord. For the Netherlands national team, he earned 31 caps and scored 9 goals, representing his country at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000.
